As we close out this week and step into another filled with endless possibilities, I want to remind you of something undeniable: no matter what policies change, no matter how Washington tries to hold us back, women are the economy!

This past weekend, I did something I’ve never done before—I accepted an invitation from my sister-friend Shannon Steel to be her guest at NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco. As much as I love sports, I can’t believe I had never been to All-Star Weekend before! Despite the quick turnaround, I had the best time surrounded by incredible energy, amazing food, and people who truly understand the value of women.

Not to mention, Shannon is the ultimate badass when it comes to investing in women. If I can brag about my friend for a moment (which I don’t think we do enough of as women) —Shannon is a proud Detroit native who owns her own bank and investment firm and is one of the youngest hotel owners in the U.S.. And if that’s not impressive enough, she has also been appointed Ambassador for the First Lady of the Central African Republic, where she recently built a hospital and adopted 34 orphans – one of the many things we have in common. I’ll share more about how we’re working together to help more women and people of color invest later, but one of the things Shannon and I always bond over is our mutual love of sports—especially women’s basketball, which we both played growing up.

If I was starting to feel even a little discouraged by all the recent attacks on women and DEI coming out of Washington, being at All-Star Weekend completely shifted my mindset. The energy was contagious, and the conversations about the value of female athletes were finally taking center stage. Women’s basketball, golf, tennis—even the NFL’s investment in a new women’s flag football league—all prove one thing: women are bankable, and the smartest investors know it.

And it’s not just in sports. Women in business as well as the entire women’s wellness industry are booming, proving yet again that when women lead, markets follow. As we highlighted in this week’s iWoman Report, women continue to dominate household finances, making key financial decisions that drive entire industries.

So while some may try to cancel DEI, they can’t cancel us. The power of women in business, sports, wellness, and finance isn’t just a movement—it’s a global economic force. The SHE-conomy is here to stay. Those who embrace it will thrive. Those who fight it are waging a losing battle.

The future isn’t just female—the present is female. And we’re just getting started.

Onward and upward,
